The Maui festival of lights will begin Monday with a spectacular fireworks display, but don’t let that distract you from your vacation.
If you’re a fan of fireworks, you’ll be able to see them at night with a new outdoor fireworks display that will start on the island’s west side, beginning at 4 p.m. on Maui Bay.
It will run through the night, with fireworks on the western end and fireworks on Mauilana Island at night on the eastern end.
The event will be the largest outdoor fireworks show in Hawaii’s history, with more than 200,000 people expected to attend, according to the Maui County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The fireworks show will feature an 8-foot high, 3-foot wide, 3,000-pound pyrotechnic display.
It will be free, and participants will be able grab a food, beverage or souvenir at the festival site.
