SAN ANTONIO, Texas — An accused kidnapper pleaded guilty Tuesday to attempting to kidnap a tourist and a woman who had gone to visit him in an upscale apartment complex.
San Antonio Police Sgt. Javier Hernandez told reporters that 31-year-old Jose Javier Ramirez-Gonzalez pleaded guilty Monday to the kidnapping of a 21-year old woman from San Antonio who was visiting the area with her sister, 23-year older brother and father-in-law.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man with a heavy build and a mustache.
He was described by police as a 5-foot-9, 190-pound man with dark curly hair.
He was wearing a gray T-shirt, dark blue jeans and dark brown shoes.
Police said Ramirez-Geralez wanted to be alone and said he had plans to meet up with his sister, who was in the hotel room with her husband, who is in a coma, at 2 a.m. on Oct. 10.
The woman told police she saw a man wearing a mask walk into the apartment complex, and that he tried to take her cellphone, a camera and wallet.
The suspects then left, and a security camera caught them leaving the building.
Police were searching for Ramirez-Giusti when they were unable to find him.
